Lessons Learned
For those of you who want more detail, go to the blog, at NelsonTasmanTrade.blogspot.com The lessons are:
1. Several people suggested finding a catchy name for the notes, other than "CCC." That process will be the responsibility of the Board.
2. K.I.S.S - and the present proposal is streamlined and simple.
3. In future years, CCC could benefit by inviting a Financial Institution to participate; this association needs to be based on the success of the system. Exchange during the expiration period at the continuing RM. Increase the role of the RM while eliminating the Financial Institution.
4. The high discount was too much. Locals who want to support the system will get involved with a moderate discount just as much as with a high discount. The modified exchange loss - proposed at 10% - during the expiration period is in line with other alternative currency's, e.g. Berkshares.
5. In total, the concept of "Advertising on Notes via Photocopying Technology" is a good project. By starting with a simpler system, we can still track the notes as they circulate at RM.
6. Charitable organizations face a very strict new set of laws, which now requires a long costly process - unattainable, which means our name cannot contain the term "trust." Hence the working name is simplified to be "Nelson Tasman Trade, Ltd."
